At Salú, we’re always looking for ways to help you feel better, recover faster, and support your long-term health. That’s why we’re excited to introduce one of the most efficient and science-backed recovery tools available: whole body vibration therapy.

If you’ve never heard of it—or aren’t quite sure what it does—you’re not alone. Let’s break it down.

Salú's vibration plate set-up

What Is Whole Body Vibration?

Whole body vibration (WBV) is a form of therapy where you stand, sit, or perform light movements on a platform that vibrates at a controlled frequency. These vibrations cause your muscles to contract and relax rapidly without placing stress on your joints.

At Salú, sessions are short, simple, and designed to complement your existing sauna or wellness routine.

Benefits of Whole Body Vibration

1. Muscle Activation & Strength Support

Research shows that vibration therapy can increase muscle activation by stimulating reflexive contractions. This makes it especially effective for:

  • Improving or maintaining strength in a low-impact way

  • Supporting stability and balance

  • Engaging muscles that are often underused

It's important to note that it is a supplement to, not a replacement for, weight-bearing exercise.

2. Bone Density Support

Studies suggest that consistent use of vibration platforms may help support bone mineral density, especially in populations at risk for bone loss. Because the vibrations create gentle mechanical loading on the body, they can stimulate bone-building activity—making this a valuable tool for long-term skeletal health.

3. Improved Circulation

Whole body vibration has been shown to increase blood flow, which helps:

  • Deliver oxygen and nutrients to tissues

  • Support recovery after exercise

  • Reduce feelings of stiffness or heaviness

Many people report feeling a noticeable “lightness” or warmth after just one session.

4. Lymphatic Flow & Detox Support

Movement in the body helps the lymphatic system function efficiently. The gentle, rhythmic vibrations of the plate can help stimulate lymphatic flow, which supports:

  • Reduced fluid retention

  • Decreased puffiness

  • Natural detoxification processes

This is one reason vibration therapy pairs so well with sauna use.

5. Balance, Stability, & Fall Prevention

Because vibration challenges your body’s stability, it helps improve:

  • Coordination

  • Balance

  • Neuromuscular control

This makes it especially valuable as we age, when maintaining strength and stability becomes increasingly important.

Why We Suggest Using it Before Your Sauna Session

This is such a great habit stack! We suggest doing the vibration plate before getting into the sauna.

  • It's an active warm-up: By stimulating muscle contractions and increasing peripheral blood flow before you enter the heat, you’re essentially "priming the pump" and getting ready to sweat!

  • Safety: You are fully hydrated and your blood pressure is stable before the heat exposure, making this the lower-risk option for dizziness.

How Long Should You Use It?

One of the biggest advantages of vibration therapy is efficiency.

  • Typical sessions are only 10–15 minutes long

  • Beginners should start with shorter intervals

  • Consistency matters more than duration: 3-4 times a week is ideal (which is the same amount of sauna sessions recommended to take each week).

Even brief sessions can deliver noticeable benefits when used regularly.

Who Should Avoid Whole Body Vibration?

While vibration therapy is safe for most people, it may not be appropriate for everyone.

You should consult your healthcare provider before use if you:

  • Are pregnant

  • Have a pacemaker or serious cardiovascular condition

  • Have recent injuries, surgeries, or joint replacements

  • Experience severe vertigo or balance disorders

As always, listen to your body and start gradually.

Why We Added Vibration Therapy at Salú

We added whole body vibration because it aligns perfectly with what we believe in: Efficient, effective, and supportive wellness.

Our goal is to offer tools that:

  • Fit into real life (quick sessions)

  • Support long-term health (not just short-term results)

  • Complement what you’re already doing (like sauna, movement, and recovery)

Vibration therapy enhances everything we already offer—especially when paired with sauna and proper hydration.

Try It for Yourself

The best way to understand the benefits is to experience them. Whole body vibration therapy is a simple way to support your body in feeling stronger, lighter, and more energized.

The vibration plate can be added to any session at Salú except for the Sauna + Cold Plunge sessions due to space and safety concerns. You will be asked at booking if you would like to add whole body vibration therapy to your session.
